Contact Centre Manager, NAB
'You will find plenty of mentors'
Louis Meyer is a Contact Centre Manager, even though he wanted to be a Chef (you might see him on Masterchef one day) or a football player. Louis likes to think that his path just evolved - when he started working in the contact centre industry, he was just trying it out. But without even realising he learned and progressed and never wanted to leave.
Louis commenced with Salmat as a Contact Centre Agent in 2003, before an opportunity came up for him to move into a Sales Verification Officer role, before progressing to a Quality Assurance position and a Team Leader role, before recently being promoted to a Contact Centre Manager position for a very large client – NAB have been with Salmat for nearly 10 years – the same centre where Louis originally started as an agent!
Today when Louis looks back at his career, he feels really proud of himself, the people he works with and this company he works for. Since joining Salmat Louis completed Certificates III and IV in Contact Centres, RG 146 and a Diploma in Contact Centre Leadership. This was all completed through Salmat's own Learning business and Salmat funded this education as we invest in the career of our team members.
Louis believes that the working environment at Salmat is very positive and different than other organisations, as Salmat is focused on people and their engagement, invests as much in the people as they invest in the organisation and truly believe the philosophy that happy and successful employees make Salmat successful. "The biggest and by far the most distinct factor at Salmat is its culture". Louis also believes that there are true leaders in this business, who take an active interest in mentoring and developing staff members. Blend that with the very high levels of internal career progression opportunity and development, and you have a fantastic career. "You will get a lot of exposure, challenge, support and reward to succeed. You will find plenty of mentors who will inspire and help you to grow." He still cooks, goes to gym, spends time with friends and even kicks the football around.
Louis sees each day as an opportunity to create something better. He is passionate about his Contact Centre, its performance and its success. He wants to see other people progress their career within his team, as he once did. And one day Louis would like to become a senior manager within the business. Louis strongly believes that Salmat can introduce you to so many incredible opportunities - opportunities which you may not have even considered to be possible. If you are thinking of working for Salmat and want to achieve, succeed and be proud - "I would strongly endorse it based on my own experience here."
